Mini Cooper and VTEC=Awesome? Check this out...
Just when you thought it was safe to buy a Mini. Ha! I was reading in Car and Driver this article. I would type it all out, but its sort've long. Seems to be people are doing a combination of the old 1959ish coopers and DOHC VTEC's and getting 13 second track times. Weird to the typical honda enthusiast (sp.), but pretty bad *** and one hell of a sleeper. The subframe of the mini has to be extended 4 inches, but to save time they have a conversion kit.

Yup thats pretty old, as they have being doing that for years.
Those pics are new to me. Usually i see the new mini coopers with the H22 in the back pics. Thats what i thought this thread was. Either way wrong place.

Got to love the RSX steering column in the 3rd pick. What do mini's way anyhow?? Like 1300 pounds!!??!! Great power to weight ratio!!!
my uncle wants me to swap a VTi engine into mine, so he can put my engine in his rare as hens teeth mini pickup.
recons my engine will be easier to fit than the DOHC V-Tech lump.
this means, all i need is the engine, and he will fit it & buy my old engine.
hmmmm. WIN WIN

that's because you've never owned and RX-7 and gotten 3 miles to the gallon only to have blown apex seals like they were going out of style on the turbo motor.
The N/A motor is still pretty weak, you could spend boat loads of cash and still not make stock LS-1 tq or power reliably. And what's better than being able to walk into any parts store in america and finding a zillion replacments ?
VTEC minis are about as old as the ITR coming to the USA news wise, hurry up and make another post for that !
