Default clutch? gears? i dont know

okay...96 exr 5 speed.....i've stored my car in teh garage and today i went to go start it after like 1 week....it starts fine..but it felt as if there was no pressure in the clutch

then i started it...and i couldtn' get it into ANY gear at all....i was pretty much stuck in neutral

y does that happen? is it normal for it to happen when the car has been sittin for awhile?

this has happened once b4...i was out of town for the weekend, and when i came back, my gears were stuck

if the cluth dose not feel right first thing to try is bleeding the clutch as you may have air in it.

If your clutch was not functioning properly, you wouldn't be able to get it in gear. Thatd be like trying to slip it in gear without the clutch in while the car is running, you can't do it.

Was there fluid on the floor? If so, master cyl. Check your fluid levels and then think about bleeding the clutch.

You might check to see if the fork is moving at the slave cyl, although I am pretty sure it won't be. That would indicate whether it was a problem outside of the bellhousing or not

actually you can change gears w/o the clutch....

if its spongy feeling, then theres either not enough fuel or air in teh line....basically, your clutch pedal is dead, and doesnt make the fork move/clutch disengage....thats why the car wond budge

if you look at the slave cylinder you should see a smallbleed screw on it which should have a small rubber cap on it. you will need an 8 or 10 mm spanner.
remove the rubber cap and put a peice of pipe over the the end of the bleed screw and put the other end in a container to catch the fluid. undo the bleed screw about half a turn should be enough and then pump the clutch pedal. when you press the pedal it will not come back up on its own so you will need to lift it back up each time. make sure you do not run out of fluid in the resivour.(top it up after about every 3-4 pumps. when you have done a total of about 10-15 pumps make sure the pedal is pressed down and then do up the bleed screw.
if this makes no diffrence you need to start looking at the other components.
good luck

I take it you mean the master cylinder is leaking(the part that conects to the pedal)
if it is this that is leaking then you need a new master cylinder.
