Kinda boring. It's a cool place to visit. But there's people here that have been here all their lives and never left this place. Crazy. 11x8 mile island and they're happy here. To each their own I guess. I'm ready to leave though. 15 months here is more than enough.

Terceira Island in the Azores. 900 miles west of mainland Portugal, 2200 miles east of Baltimore. Yeah, middle of the atlantic.

Wow, that place looks gorgeous. I know what you mean though, awesome for a vacation, but when you stay there for so long you miss living back home. What's the price of premium like there? Do you get any radio stations there? Silly question maybe, but being 900 miles away from land it made me think I liked the video, I wish we had back roads like that where you could open your car up on once in a while.

It's starting to get a lot greener now that winter's here. It rains A LOT.
I buy my gas on base. The damn price has been steadily going up even with prices in the states dropping. Paying $2.18 for 91 now. Not as bad as off base. I think they're paying 1.55 EURO ($2.06) per LITER.
We get the Portuguese radio station from one of the towns here. They play some mainstream stuff. Other than that we have the AFN radio station from here on base. They do their own morning show thing in the morning and then in the afternoon we get "Johnathan and Mary in the morning" which comes from the states somewhere.

 

So what's going to haul your car over....I've had buddys fit there civic into a C-130 and haul it from ND to CA. Great hooks ups...

Gotta ship mine the old fashioned way. Put it on a boat and if everything goes right I'll meet it in St. Louis towards the beginning of march.

Don't remind me. I watched as they offloaded my car's container from the ship when it got here. Those things are HUGE!!!! I don't know how they float. To give you a perspective of how big each one of those are, my car was parked in there behind a Buick LeSabre and a Neon.
Kinda scary how there's containers right there at the edge.

You do the paperwork and get everything straightened out with your buddies and I'll have the car sitting on a K-Loader when they get here ready to go along with a few cases of their beer of choice.
I don't mess with the flightline side of things. That's a whole different world from the CE side of the house. We just make sure the buildings stay up and running.

Sorry, transporting civilian's cars is too much paper work and authuroization is a good chance "NO" from our commanders.

 

lol, where my nearest recruiting office, hmmm. I have actually thought about oining up. the only prob is. i have flat feet and can only march for about 2 hrs. i've been told that pretty much red flags you from service.
