EP3 front brake service bulletin
there is a service bulletin out for the EP3 for which year i dont know and i didnt ask(mine is a 2004). i complained to the service advisor of a clicking noise when i apply my brakes for the 1st time in each direction. i also complianed about the shuttering feel when i apply my brakes medium to hard braking application when slowing and stopping at a high rate of speed. lets say getting off the freeway.
she said there was one, and that they will replace the pads, and resurface the rotors under warranty.
i apologize if this isnt clear, but i dont know how esle to lay it down.

My car has this SAME problem! (2004)
Also, my window weather stripping driver and passenger leak. I had the passenger side replaced already.
For some reason there is a break in the stripping down in the front upper corner.. This causes air to come in and sometimes water.
Get yours replaced under warranty before water gets in there and freezes causing it to expand and break.

i just checked my honda ownerlink site, and it says there are currently no recalls out for my car. maybe its a vin # problem where only certain cars have problems?

The only recall found was for 416 Units Affected for 2004/2005 Civic Si - SEAT BELTS - FRONT ANCHORS. Click here and once the page opens, do the following:
1) Click on Recall Searches by make, model, year
2) Scroll down just a bit until you see two choices inside a yellow box. Under Select the TYPE of Search, you will see that Vehicle is already selected. Click on the Search Selected Type button
3) On the next yellow box that shows up, click on the down arrow to select your Si Year: and click the Submit Year button
4) Next yellow box, select Make: (i.e. Honda) and click the Submit Make button
5) Next yellow box, select Model: (i.e. CIVIC SI) and click the Go button
NOTE: Step #5 (CIVIC SI) is only listed for 2004 & 2005 model years. There are no CIVIC SI listings for 2002 or 2003 models.
6) Next yellow box, click on the down arrow for Type: and select PASSENGER CAR and click Submit Model/Type button
7) Next yellow box, put a check mark next to the item that says Select this check box if you would like to see a full summary output on the search result page. Otherwise, the summary for each case will be available as a link and click the Retrieve Recalls button
After reading the particular recall in step 7, go down to the bottom of the page and click on the button (located at the bottom left corner) that says Document Search.
Another page will open up with the following .PDF file names:
1. RCRIT-04V550-9122.PDF -- Remedy Instructions and TSB ( 181.79 KB)
2. RCMN-04V550-6795.PDF -- Manufacturer Notices(to Dealers,etc) ( 142.13 KB)
3. RCFK-04V550-5367.PDF -- Fax Acknowledgement ( 37.97 KB)
4. RCONL-04V550-2437.PDF -- Owner Notification Letter(Part 577) ( 69.86 KB)
5. RCDNN-04V550-8079.PDF -- Defect and Noncompliance Notice(Part 573) ( 97.64 KB)
Click on each .PDF file name as some of them will have the actual Si VIN #s that were affected by the recall.
Also, another site (ALLDATA) lists TSBs for the following Si model years:
1) Safety Recalls & Service Bulletins for 2002 Civic Si
2) Service Bulletins for 2003 Civic Si
3) Service Bulletins for 2004 Civic Si
ALLDATA does not show anything for a 2005 Si.
Lastly, since some of you here have experienced the clicking sound, the only brake-related TSB found was for 2005 Civics, but not Sis. Click here and click on the yellow Service Bulletins button instead of Recalls. You may want to print this bulletin and take it with you to the dealership.
Hope this helps.

This is what I've been hearing, too -- that it's the calipers or pads readjusting. Supposedly they have a little bit of play so that they have room to expand when heated.
I'll ask again when I take it in next month for an oil change.

Uhhh? who cares? I drive a total of 3+ hours a day going to and from work. Half back roads and half highway. You apparently don't drive this much, HOWEVER, I do. It is very freaking annoying.

(PS. I had both of my window moldings on my '04 replaced because they whistled.. The dealership did it under warranty. They for some reason have a break in the molding causing a whistling and it leaks water under pressure.)
