I sold my 2003 r6 with 2400 miles on it this fall for $6200 no extended warranty either. Don't listen to those who said it's worth 5k..

a friend was selling his 03 with 1700 miles last year around now and it took him a couple months to get 5300 for it. depreciations a bitch.

Finding a buyer that will pay top dollar for your bike is a crap shoot. you have to hope that a buyer will come across your path that is an impulsive shopper. otherwise, people will shop around for the best deal and the cleanest bike. $6500 isn't too bad of a price for that bike. It wouldn't last too long out here in SoCal at that price. There is nothing wrong with it other than cosmetics(this is a big depreciation factor), and you can replace all of that if you want to.

Yeah, I'd say 6k is respectable at anytime of the season. I wouldn't pay $6500 for it, but shitt you better not let it go for 5k

Not likely...cause by then another newer year of R6's will be out...and yours will be older.
Some reference numbers:
I bought my 2000R6 when it was 2yrs old, for $5700. I sold it 2yrs later for $4700.
I bought my 03 GSXR1000 with 1600 miles on it, for $7500 this spring. This was a nice price at that time. Now you can find them a bit more easily for that price. The bike was a year old and had dropped about $2k in that year. It will likely not drop that much each year from now on.
From what I've seen, the 1000 bikes hold value a little better than the 600's. Also keep in mind that if you are too firm on your pirce, the value of your bike will be dropping steadily (due to age) and it will become harder and harder to get your asking price. I've seen so many people ask too much for a bike, hold it forever waiting on that one buyer to come along...but meanwhile, the difference in the value of the bike and their asking price just keeps growing.

Well, just from experience, i have seen similar bikes here in california selling from $5500 - $6700 , now like many people say right now its winter time so you might want to wait till spring, however, your bike is an 04 and in my opinion you should get at least 6k.

California is 3000 miles away from Virginia. Most people aren't willing to deal with the hassle of buying a used bike that they can't see in person. I thought the same way when I was selling my r6 but gave up and dumped it locally. Plus his bike does not have enough mileage to be registered in CA.

You need a certain mileage to be registered in Cali?

nah, he's a dealer and likes to move them quick. he probably paid less than half of that.

Re: How much for my r6? (Stolen94GSR)
P.S. Holler at me if you decide to sell it outright too, I might be able to come up with some cash selling the car to someone else. Just let me know when the time comes, if you decide to let it go. Nice bike, once again.
