here's some options in no particular order:
i would start with an oil change.
replace the fuel filter if it's a little old.
spark plugs and wires. dizzy cap and rotor
valve adjustment
clean air filter

oh yah and take your car in one piece haha

you dont need to get all crazy and change everything, if you think your car is running satisfactory right now, just bring it to the dyno the way it is. You may want to consider bringing new plugs with you with the proper gap etc so you can check them out after each pull to see if you have any detonation. Changing everything before you go will give you better "results" (maybe a couple more HP), but it wont be a good representation of how your car runs the other 90% of the time when parts arent new.

hell yes titan motorsports fo sho

whats done to my car?
-ebay intake
-skunk2 intake mani
-greddy header
-thermal cat back exhaust
-ported and polished head
-JDM H22 Type-S pistons
-H23 crank
-H23 rods
-H23 manual tensioner
-ACT HDSS clutch
-ACT streetlite flywheel

thats pretty much it in the way of engine modifications. all that is in an h22a1 (used the h22 block also so people who i havent told wont know its an h23vtec)

onemobb1: i changed the oil yesterday at work, everything else on your list was done either during the swap or right before the swap

im just praying that the problem with my VTEC actually lies inside the ECU b/c everything else was checked, rechecked, and rerechecked a long time ago using a Honda service manual VTEC troubleshooting flowchart. if its not in the ecu then i am SOL lol

$95 to chip the ECU and $145 for an hour on the dyno. sure the dyno time is priced a lil bit high but i think having their tuner do it is worth the money, i havent heard anything bad about him

Revi-Ra: i finally got an appointment (combination of me being lazy and getting ahold of Darin), so im not waiting any longer. although if you guys did a dyno day id love to go hang out with you all

Do us a favor and make a pass on the dyno with the stock ecu
before they "chip" it or put the chipped one in.

I would like to see before and after results of this.

Thanks

i would... but VTEC doesnt work and ill get a check engine light if i go above VTEC engagement point so ill pass on that.

hoping to see over 200whp... does that sound reasonable?

Why would you even bother dynoing your car then?

read the first 7 words of the original post

edit: maybe i should be more clear... ive done all the troubleshooting as per a Honda shop manual to try and get my vtec working and it all boiled down to the ECU which, as far as i can tell, wasnt chipped properly to begin with (i bought a chipped p28 b/c my friend got one off the same guy first and it worked wonderfully in his car). we even tried hooking my friends ECU in my car and we went down the road and tried hitting VTEC and the engine flooded b/c the injectors are humongous (dont ask). so that right there pretty much confirmed my suspicions

jdm_loser: no offense, but if you only have a JDM h22 with a DC sports header thats quite a bit less mods than what i have. lets remember that i have JDM type-S pistons and h23 crank and rods... which is right around an 11.7:1 compression ratio. i dont want to sound like im tooting my own horn here, but if i only have a 15 hp gain over what you id be pretty pissed. but then again i dont want to set myself up to being let down.

but seriously, if you go to the dyno let me know. i saw a supra with a shitload of work done do a baseline run while i was there and i think im hooked lol if Titan was closer to my house i think id go there just to watch ahahha

Well i called Titan yesterday and they said they are back logged for the Dyno. The said to leave a message to Darin i believe and he would call me back...i havent gotten a call yet.

Wonder how long is the wait i was hopping to get in there on the 8th.

Does Darin or anyone from Titan hang out here in HT?
