Looks good. Factoring in labor and paint, that is easily a $2000 box.
Also fiberglass like this doesn't really itch that much, or maybe it is just me.

The work looks nice, but the subs are going to sound like **** firing to the front of the car. Nice work though

How could you have spent so little on the fabric?

You have quite a bit of resin in there, and only $10 of fabric? What is your source for the fabric and what type of fabric is it (weight / brand)?

How many layers of fabric are used in that enclosure? Or is it just fiberglassed MDF?

I'm asking because I recently acquired FG supplies, and my fabric was uhh...expensive as hell. I shopped around quite a bit too. For reference, I'm using 24oz Knytex dbm1708, I got it at Mertons for $6 per 38"x yard.

Because what makes woofers in a hatchback sound so good is when the wave resonates off of the back window when they are facing backwards. Facing forwards, there is nothing for the sound to resonate off of.

So, in your infinite wisdom - without even hearing the car - you have predicted exactly what it will sound like.....

man, your good....real good.....

he obviously did it for looks not perfect quality sound and loudness, it wont sound bad, and who knows it might be best for that vehicle after all, while it should still be louder if it fired up at that glass or towards the rear, it looks sick, and will still probably be able to bump more than enough, it is a dually...

i've heard installs like that before. There will be a standing wave. I'm not trying to start and arguement here, and dont turn this thread into another one of those lame *** threads that two people start talking **** and get into a fight. I said the install looked good, but would'nt sound the best. Who ******* cares?

I'm just going to ignore that whole garbage as jony suggested (and I think Rcurley should too) so:

Does anyone else think that $10 was a little cheap on the fabric? I still can't figure that one out...

anyone want to help me with that? Why did I just spend several times that amount on my fabric?

I don't think you could do that enclosure properly with $10 of fabric - unless it's just an mdf box, he built some frame work, stretched fleece over it to create the shapes, then just went to town with the bondo.

I pay about the same as you do for knytex, and between 25 and 30 a gallon for resin, so the prices he stated are damn cheap - which is awesome if he can get stuff for that price. It's just not possible locally where I'm at (at least to my knowledge)

I would think that particular box would cost between 100 and 200 in materials and that's without paint....

I just took a second look at it - and what I noticed is that looking through those two holes between the baffle and the latch, you can see two obvious materials were used - there's a definite transition there - I'm thinking there's a lotta bondo in that little valley and that's where the thickness is coming from, and that's how they got the nice curve - the sides of the box by the baffle look to be created by mostly the car's original parts, and the sharp edges would seem to support that there's a full mdf box in there.

I dunno - just trying to play a little detective
