removing top nut on tein ss
ok you know on the top nut of the shock where(on the oem suspeneion) you have to use a allen wrench to hold the shock stem still while you loosen the nut? well how do you do this on tein ss because all that happens when you put the allen wrench in there is adjust the dampening.

visegrip the shaft and turn slowly... it should only be at 25 ftlbs so it will move without much turning..
done it several times no problems at all... i actually have two nuts at the top,, i dont need to mess with my suspension for fear of the nut coming loose.
and the same goes when you torque the nut down putting it together. some people grip that little notch at the top. if you look it will be two flat sides.. but i dont like that since it could damage the ****. i prefer to grip the shaft instead...no problems and no marks and is still smooth..

dont do that...if u vise grip the shaft it will leave an indension in the the shaft and when it is compressed it will rub the inside and bust the gas chamber

how did you torque it to 25lbs then???
or call tein and ask them how to do it...
the shaft is not that weak but do what you want...i did it without any marks or any problems so i can only offer my solution.

also if you grip it at the top of the shaft like i did there is no way it will even touch the gas chamber due to the bump stop..
