Depending on fab costs, I see no reason besides using fibers to charge anything above $200.

I've had the same parts replaced before and if he's using new OEM parts, $1500 isn't far off.

OEM Radiator support ~ $340
OEM Headlight ~ $560

These are of course new oem retail prices and also doesn't include labor. If the guy is getting it done at a professional top end body shop then $1500 is probably what he's paying. If he did it himself using used parts, it should only be around $500 in materials max.

In most states, the legal requirement of repairing a damaged vehicle does NOT include new or OEM parts. Used parts, and aftermarket parts that are of "equal quality" are acceptable. If he wants to hit you for new parts, simply tell him that you will not replace his used parts with new ones...you will replace them with used parts, if available.

It would be like totalling a guy's 91 Honda Civic and he wants you to replace his car.... but he wants you to buy him a NEW 2005 Civic.

I can't really make out your paragraph due to a lack of punctuations, but sounds like the dude hit your buddy from behind. I don't know about elsewhere, but in MN, that's the fault of the vehicle in the rear

Get some buddies together, kidnap him, beat the **** out of him, let some ex-prisoner have his way with him, and leave him bound and gagged in a remote area.

PS wear masks...not pantyhose.
