Nice bike, keep her clean and the rubber side down. Don't listen to naysayers...you'll be a greater rider and less of a poser in the long run. Unless you aim to be a poser, then you should have gone out and bought the newest, hottest bike and started to mod it before learning to ride it.

have you taken an MSF course? that helped me out a ton... just ride when you can, be safe, and keep the miles up.

i would love to have second bike... as an experienced rider (spare me the flames) to other experienced riders... do you think a 250 would feel extremely weird to me?

It will feel different.. not neccesarily weird. I had a 250 for a short while after riding the r6 and I actually enjoyed the 250 a lot. They are very easy to throw around into and out of turns and it's just a fun bike to ride without the ability to go above 100mph.. no biggie

There is nothing shameful about having a 250 as a starting bike. I sort of wish I did now. I agree with everyone saying to take the MSF because it helped me out in starting to ride. I have put 1800 on my CBR since october but now the ice on the roads is keeping me off of her. Soon if they dry up I will be back out. Ride safe and enjoy .
