Changing Dash? illegal?
Does anyone know if changing the dash is illegal because i heard once you change the dash the vin number changes cause your using it from another car... is that true but you can put the vin over the hold one or remove it?
changing you dash is not illegal. just remove the vin on the dash youu want, and replace it with the vin that belongs to your car. as long as is on that dash (mounted properly) then there should not be any problems.
If you replace the tan wheel with a black one make sure it has an airbag. Get an oem wheel with the airbag intact and you shouldn't have any problems. i can only assume there would be a problem when removing the airbag all together, good luck.

The only issue that you may run into is that certain rivets are used to mount the dash VIN plate, and some law enforcement officers, ins co adjusters etc, are trained to check these when inspecting a vehicle. I'd suggest giving the local Honda dealer with a bodyshop a ring, and find out what they do when replacing air bags that require upper dash pad replacement.
I don't think swapping anything in your interior is legal. I have plenty of friends and I've seen plenty of people who have done it and who have not gotten in trouble. If you do the right things such as put the VIN in the right place it would be legal.
