You could do this but you would be wasting your time becuase the obd1 distributor doesn't work with the obd0 system.

I have a crx dx also and i tried to do the same thing but the OBD 1 distributor has 1 extra wire and it wont work with it. I believe that obd0 is a 5 wire and obd 1 is 6 wire. I just bought a distruibutor off of Ebay for $45.
Just buy a obd0-obd1 conversion harness from "blown90hatch" or "Droppedcrxsi" to work with the obd1 distributor..
Or buy an obd0 distributor and keep it simple..

Does this not also require the p28 ecu?

If you want to convert to obd1 you have to use a obd1 dizzy,obd1 ecu,and change the wiring to match obd1 ..You may or may not need a p28..Depends on your motor set-up..
My opinion is if you have an obd1 sohc vtec set up then get a p28
And if you have an obd1 dohc vtec set up then get a p72

Do you have access to a volt meter/test light? I have a diagram i made up a few weeks ago i will post up later tonight if i remember.
So all I Have to do is match up the colors, And put c1 to blu/grn, c2 to blu/yel and the fat white wire to grn/yel........someone let me know if this is correct.
Just trace from the ecu plugs to figure out which wires need to be coming out where. Very easy to do with a test light or voltmeter.
