when was the last time you got a new batery. When was the last time you got a altornator. Check and see if your altornator is putting out 13-14 volts

it sound like your car dosent have enough power to run coil and then run lights and headlights check thw water in your battery. and run the altornator test with lights on

I may sound repetitive by saying it, but replace the groundwire that goes form the valve cover to the frame. It solved some electrical demons of mine.(and some others as well). It's worth a try.

its your alternator mine did the same thing. i change my battery and bought a larger alternator, let me quess you have a sound system right? that will kill your stock alternator. (if you dont have a sound system it should still be ur alternator, when ever the lights start to dim turn your a/c on they should brighten back up for a little while. mine did thats how i knew it was time to change the alternator.)

my 2 cents foo

I had a problem with my gauge saying HOT. Pegged Hot as a matter of fact. Threw money and parts around like most others with the same problem. It was the friggn' ground strap on the valve cover. Just friggn' try it. It's a 5 dollar friggn wire at best. If it doesn't work call me some goofy friggn' names or something...... If it does.... ummmm...... give me a hundred dollars. Deal? Deal.

well to tell u the truth i ran out side to my car and check that wire there was a big thick one an a small wire connect to the valve cover and to 2 different spots and just before ive cheked in my car at honda dealer ship for next wednesday and they said ruffly it would probly be a ground wire.but GUESS WHAT....i check the wires and its all friken corroded, the covering of the sigle small wire thats connected to somthing just fell off and now striped with a little touch...
so hopefully i can get one off honda parts place 2morrow and change it and HOPEFULLY it is that problem..hopefully
why i keep saying hopefully becuase ive been having this and posting it up on every site for 6 months..

thanks five -0

I replaced mine with a braided piece. I just took two straps and connected 3 terminals in a series. (like a V). You don't necessarily need the honda piece.

I hope your worries are over. Goodluck.

hi,

my car has a switch that you roll on the center consol just as you come down from the arm rest its there next to the ariel button.

just turn that and it adjusts the brightnes of the car.
im sure its that.. if you dont have it check to see if there is a gap there maybe it got taken out..

let me know if you still cant find it i will post a pic for you?

Are you running a stock pulley setup? Can you do a load test on the charging system? It's just gotta be the alternator man.

on the gauge fix. Did you use a stock one?
