Like the title says, under very hard acceleration, my battery light comes on, sometimes flickering, sometimes steady. Once I ease off, it might go off. Usually when I come to a stop and the car's in neutral, the light goes off! I checked the alternator belt and tightened it because I thought maybe it was slipping under hard acceleration, but it still comes on.

The car itself drives fine, no dimming lights or stereo problems at all. Also it starts like a champ every day. The car is a 90' Si Hatch.

 

tighten battery termals and if it still does it take the alt. off and take it to autozone to get it tested

 

Battery terminals are tightened all the way down.

 

Do you have your alt belt tensioned correctly? Check it and make sure no ribs are missing. It is probably slipping at high speeds

 

Belt looks great and I tightened it right before I took it on the road. The previous owner has all the records and the belts have always been changed frequently. There are no records of the alt. being replaced though.

alternator is on its way out. youre lucky its working "fine" now, it soon wont be.
