Default d16y7 turbo on d16y8

I am currently look to buy a 98dx hatch with a turbo on it. I was told the turbo is similar to the greddy kit. Would I be able to swap the motor for a y8 and keep the turbo kit without modifying it. Or would I be better off doing a mini me. Thanks in advance.

you'd have to redo the upper charge piping from the IC to the TB. you'd need the ecu, wire up the vtec, etc. if the bottom end is still good, do a minime, much cheaper and essentailly does the same ****.
