JDM swap in my 97 GSR question
I got my JDM B18C OBD2 swap the other day and was going over some things before i install it. I'm going to be installing it in a 97 GSR. One thing I noticed right off the bat is that the JDM engine wire harness connectors are swapped from left to the right since jdm cars are right sided. Meaning I would have to extend? them to the correct side? How would I go about doing this. The battery and stater cable are long enough to go to the other side but from how it looks, I dont think the right wire plugs will reach to the left side of the engine bay. Also The ECU I got is a P72-013 which I looked up to be a JDM OBD2 ECU. The only thing is that I couldn't find a secondary o2 sensor wire coming out of it, the pin is missing, I'm guessing jdm cars are still on the single o2 setup, would I need a USDM ECU?. Also I should be able to just plug it up to my existing USDM OBD2 harness with no problems correct? Please help me figure this out.
I looked at the service manual and the JDM motor to see what it has and what is missing and found that like you said the CKF sensor and the VTEC pressure switch sensor are missing. The VTEC pressure switch sees the same signal as the VTEC solenoid 0V at low RPM 12V at high rpm so the hack is to just connect them together to trick the ECU. As for the CKF, I did research and found that I will need a USDM oil pump which accepts the CKF sensor. I did a search and scored myself a GSR oil pump with the CKF on it for a fairly good price. I also need the EVAP Purge solenoid for emissions (still need let me know if anyone has one). Is there anything else I should be aware of besides those three things?? I'm planning to hack up the JDM wire harness, most things are already wired correctly when I plug them in but I know I'm going to have to run wires for the CKF and EVAP sensors. Anything I'm missing here besides my head for trying to do this swap?

like I was saying before use the usdm harness. that has the ckf plug on it. also use the usdm oil pump and also get a usdm vtec solenoid assembly. as for the evap I might have one. I have to check. one thing is use the usdm harness lots easier.
Yea, I'm going to get the USDM wire harness as well to make things plug and play. As for the evap solenoid please check to see if you have one because I've been looking everywhere for one and the dealer wants $120 for it
