auto to manual wiring help....reverse lights!!!
Ok.....i am in the process of installing my ecu....
there are 4 ecu plugs on the auto trans......i know that i need to take out a few wires from plug B (the plug that is only found on the auto ecu)......i suppose to connect the green wire w/ black strip and a yellow wire from the auto shifter plug......to the same color wires that i de-pinned from auto ecu plug B...
Here is the problem....on ecu plug B, i found 2 yellow wires and 2 green w/ black strip.....????????

what car are u going to do the auto to manual swap? Its A LOT of work....i have done motor swaps in the past, and to me, the auto to manual swap is harder....
if u have any questions about the swap just ask.....i am almost done with my swap ***knock on wood***
if u are doing it in an ek.....feel free to ask me....i had done A LOT of research on this topic

I think your best bet would be to simply find an manual ECU. My roommate has the auto-manual swap done on his hatch and and we wired mine exactly the same when we replaced the chasis harness becuase I was able to get an auto harness for $10 thanks to the lack of knowledge the local salvage yard has
It is not that hard to wire the actual harness but as for the ECU I already had a manual ECU and my roommate just went and got one when he did his swap. I am not sure the info is really helpful in your situation but it would be the easiest way to do it but not the cheapest.
PS if I remember right too to use an automatic ECU on a manual you need to change a jumper in the ECU but I could be wrong.

Ok smarty pants, convert these 2 ecu's on my desk to manuals and lets finish that swap!

I think maybe i was no so clear on what i wrote....
i am installing a manual ecu, i just have some questions about wiring in the reverse lights:
when u change to a manual ecu u need to change some pins in ecu plug A....(thats if u did the IACV fix....change from a 3 wire iacv to a 2 wire iacv)
still need to know how to wire in the reverse lights.....i know if all else fails....i can alway just wire it stright to the reverse light switch on the tranny.....but i have heard that there is a way to run some wires from ecu plug b (the one that is only found on on an auto)....to part of the auto shifter plug.....
thanks for replying guys
