Default h22 integra insanely slow need help

heres my setup:

'98 h22a swap
aem 3" cai
dc sport header
trust exhaust
stock cat

my problem is when i hit vtec the car doesn't go anywhere
car is equipped with h23injector for some retarded reason, with a p28 w/ a prelude fuel map

to my knowledge h22 have secondaries so i would need at least a stock gsr ecu to run properly

i tried a gsr ecu vtec is really loud but car doesn't go anywhere at all no joke
i also tried a 93-95 prelude ecu sorta felt better but still not h22 material....

help would and suggestion would be greatly appreciated thanks

get the right injectors or tune the motor for the injectors that you have

the h23 injectors are too small, get the right ones.....they wont work right with the h22 maps, theyre made for the 345cc injectors the h22 has.....

and you will need the p72 if you want IABs

That would be the right thing to do.

Get h22 injectors and pull the vacum hose off the iab and they will stay open until you get a ecu that controls them.

thanks for all the reply guys....you wouldn't even believe who put the h23 injectors in there i purchased the entire car with at the swap and Tein SS coilover kit for 3k with bolt on which wasn't that bad.........

only downfall is this **** is slow right now......

btw is there anyway to identify h22 vtec injector like a color code.......like dsm 450s are usually that light sky bluish color....

the car is an obd1 1994 integra with a 97 motor i believe with obd1 wiring harness

You can't use a P72 for secondaries...they open at 5800 on P72...they are supposed to open at 4900 on an H22A4.

You are running really lean..and since you have a P28 your knock sensor can't save you. I feel bad for your motor.

Get:
P13 H22a ecu (93-95)
H22A1 injectors
adjustable fpr or A1 fpr

I suggest you take it really easy on the motor until you can
get some 345 cc injectors in there.

Even then, your gonna need some kind of fuel management to
run with the p28 ecu.

I'd go with uberdata or hondata with your p28

do what the man says

just for your infomation the h23 injectors are 240cc and the preludes are 345s thats more than 100cc difference in injectors,

ibet your motor is leanin gout really badly.

get a p13 NOW and get 450s with an adjustable FPR if you can't find some 345cc lude injecotrs, also note the 97+ h22a4 injectors won't work for you since they are obd2 clips and are only 290cc

how is a stock ecu adjustable? or do you mean with hondata/uberdata? If so then yeah you can program it, but a stock ecu is fixed on IAB control.

General Comment:

It's possible he's not running lean if the p28 was properly chipped for 240cc injectors and a prelude map...but not likely if he is getting such crappy performance. Something is wrong lean or rich..the program does not match the engine, the injectors, or both.

if you're running h23 injectors you'd need a resister box

thanks for all the help guys............sure enough i got 345cc injector from a near by shop thanks to redzone performance.......for $40 and they chipped me a program for my car from scratch which worked out great just installed it tonite and took it out for a spin....great improvement vtec actually pulls at 5700 and keeps on pulling kinda dies out up top

but its all good i am gettin a testpipe thrusday so it should help out somewhat not bad for a quick cheap fix

oh kinda funny i had 450 injectors too earlier in the week my friend phil from spoolinperformance lend me some.....they are stilll sittin at my house....

i am sorta happy with this setup now after all

from scratch? like on a dyno or with a wideband 02 sensor?

Unless they put your car on a dyno or did some street tuning with a wideband you got a pretty generic chip, which, as most people eventually come to find out, aren't the best things in the world.

I agree..it feels like it's pulling because your power curve tanked so bad from 4900-5700 being on the low cam, VTEC crossover would be like a 70whp jump in power.

Feels faster, but it's not. You'll be slower overall due to the low power 4900-5700 and you'll drop out of VTEC at least in the 1-2 shift every time.

yeah you could do what I did. just have 'em put in a base p13 map for now. VTEC should engage at around 5200 and you should shift at around 7200 or so. H sereis motors are not rev happy like B series and you will pull harder if shift within the power band.
