Great article in this months issue. They compare both of Turners GA and SWC cars in detail. I knew there were big differences but the article really goes in to detail.

How much does an extra $70,000 buy you at Mid Ohio (GA 325 costs 80K vs. 150K for SWC 325) ?????

Apparently about 4 seconds. Also interesting that Tuner buys street 325's from a car dealer for GA Cup, but spends 22K for bare tubs from BMW for SWC.

Great article, I just finished it at lunch today.

I found the costs per car per weekend very interesting. And way too much for me to ever afford it.

 

Glad you guys enjoyed the piece. Sahir did a nice job on it. (And notice that Randy Pobst shot some of the detail photos?)

Actually I did notice that. You guys thinking about bringing Randy is as a correspondent? He is one of the funniest guys I've ever met at the track. I watched the GP of DC SCCA Touring car race with him, and almost pissed myself from laughing so hard. Great guy...

 

Yeah, we like Randy. He helped with the helmet story that's in the next issue, and he has worked with us on past projects. Also, did you know that he was on one of our first covers? This was back in 1985 or so.

 

...and the SWC-spec engine cost HOW much? Shudder.

Reaffirming my belief that WC needs to dial back the engine spec a bit.
