Default In-car security cameras

I walked to my car today and found that someone had keyed it. I have no idea who would do that to me; it's not even riced or anything, and I don't have any terrible dispositions with anyone as far as I know to where anyone would want to do that......

Now, I have seen some neat license plate cameras. I did a thread search and couldn't find the thread on them. I want something that has an extremely low draw and can go on for a few days. I have a 99 Civic EX with an Optima Yellowtop 51R. [Aside: Now, wait, now that I think about it, I know where I parked my car, and I know who would have done it. He walked by where my car was parked and walked by the coffeeshop where I am. He keyed my car before, and now he will suffer by deer urine and glass cutter.] I need four cameras that have extremely low current draw, and I'm willing to spend the money on a nano-itx board that can take maybe 32MB of pictures/slow video in RAM and back up to compactflash or hard disk. Any ideas here?

I'm probably going to have to design an embedded system this time.

Example:
Embedded Cirrus board running a Linux 2.4 kernel
USB cameras that have Linux support
12V motion detectors to power visible/IR light sources and trigger a fast-frame (maybe 4fps) image acquisition

Now, this would take some money. And another deep cycle battery. Even though the embedded board draws 2W, it would have to spin up a hard disk drive to record those images once the RAM was filled or after a given time interval, whichever comes first.

This sketchball keyed my car. I'm going to get him back. WIth evidence.
