Default 2000 accord ex vtec

just curious as to
1. if the 2000 accord ex vtec is a DOHC or SOHC?

2.Whats the best product to use when trying to avoid hydro locking with a CAI (i am using a a AEM bypass valve)

3.Using nitrous, is it rougher in a stick vs. an automatic or vice versa?

4.what number ex.(b16...etc) is the 2000 accord ex vtec engine?

The answer for #2 is the COld Air Intake you currently have, with its bypass filter valve it basically brings down the percentage of hydrolock exponentially, but dont go driving through puddles and stuff like a madman, what a lot of people with modified cars dont understand is that they get these intakes, bypass valves and even ram air intakes, but when they lower their car, for every inch they bring the car down, they are getting closer to the ground, which increases their chance of getting hydrolock, bypass or not.

The answer for #3 is depending on how well your transmission is worked on, is how rough the nitrous will treat you, but in my experience, its always said to be best in a manual transmission, but a lot of Supra owners ive come across when i owned one, preferred it with their auto transmission...which i think is strange.

Supra auto tranny, much like the rods found in the Supra TT, is a much beefier unit than in the Accord. The Accord auto tranny is a weak tranny when it comes to adding a decent amount of power to it. They have had too many auto tranny problems on bone stock 98-02 models as it is.
For the Accord, I would add something like NOS/Turbo/SC to a manual equiped car. If it cannot hold the power, then you drop in a stronger clutch.

4cyl = f23a1, f23a4 (ULEV), or f23a5 (DX model, non-vtec). I've never heard of an f23a3.

I believe the V6 is a j30a2. I could be wrong about the "a2" part though.

f23a1's were available all the way to 02. It may have been different for Cali though, with the stricter emission laws.

For example, the ULEV engines weren't available at dealerships here in Houston...

Has anyone ever seen that video AEM came out with when their bypass valve was first introduced? They put an intake and bypass valve on an NSX and put the filter in a 10 gallon fish tank and ran the motor, I don't recall the rpm's but the water just shot out of the valve. Still doesn't make me trust it more but it was a cool video.

that's not exactly what happened in the video... there was no water spewing from the bypass valve... they used a clear tube for an intake, and submerged it in water. they then ran the car (i believe on a dyno, in order to simulate actual driving loads). sure, water was sucked into the pipe, but it didn't even get close to reaching the bypass valve. why? because the bypass did it's job... after water entered the tube, vacuum increased to a level where the bypass valve opened and allowed air to enter through there.
