Default Question about my Honda Civic EX 2000

I have a 2000 Civic Ex. I was wondering if my car has a V-TEC engine like an SI or an accord V-6. IMO civic's are pretty slow unless you fix em up of course so i was wondering at all if my car has a V-TEC engine.

Sorry but i am really bad when it comes to cars and engines and everything. Is my SOHC VTEC in my civic at all like a 97-01 Prelude VTEC engine meaning i get the boost of speed when i hit around like 5500 rpm's? If this SOHC vtec in my car isnt anything like a Prelude's DOHC Vtec then i might consider trading my car in for a accord v-6 or just fixing up my car.

Yes you do get the 'boost' of speed when the engine crosses over into VTEC, however you wont feel it quite as much as those 2.2L DOHC Prelude engines. If you really want DOHC VTEC get a B16 or B18C engine swap and turbo it, you'll be running 13's in no time

Danny you are stupid It's the same engine that you have. You should know this stuff.

Anyways...I've got the old harness off and the new one is going to get put on tomorrow...so hopefully it will run again tomorrow sometime. But not for long because I'm going to change all my fluids before I start driving it.
