Default anyone with 500+ and 17's (DD 10-15 miles a day)

i have17'' te-37's and was wondering, do i just need to get smaller rims or is there a tire i can use streetable, no really worried about wear, more concerned about traction. 215/50/17? i dont know if it would fit. i have 205/40/17 currently but that was n/a. now that i am boosted i just dont know, thanks in advance

I don't think there will be enough sidewall for a decent radial on a 17" rim. . .

Doesn't BFG make a drag radial in a 17" now? The sidewall would be smaller which would provide less traction, but it might still be somewhat streetable. 500whp on a FWD street car is going to mean shitty traction in first and second gear no matter what.

I run the 17" BFG's. They hook much better than any 17" street tire, better than any 15" street tire, but they don't hook as good as a 15" DR. 440 WHP and if they're cold i'll spin them clear through second. With regular street radials on at 440 WHP traction is a joke at pretty much any speed on the street.

How are the tires when they're warmed up?

what are the specs on the tire 205-215? do you have a part #, cost?

once heated up how is traction, i know i am gonna spin for days with my hp, but i do have a sc61 so the lag might help the traction

They're pretty solid. They're more finicky at launch, if I try to launch higher (6500) on the 17's they wheelhop like a ****, first time I tried a high RPM launch it shook the car so hard my radar detector went flying off and it knocked the glovebox open. I have no doubt that a great driver on these tire could knock off a high 11 pass, I hang FAIRLY close to my uncle's high 11 second C5 out of the hole and I start fetching by second gear.

The tires are 205/40/17, they also make one that's like 225/45/17 and it's about 25" tall, so you'll have to check for clearance. I got them from tire rack and they were about 125 a piece. I don't buy into the lag helps traction bit that much, when you're making over 400 WHP you're going to spin violently if boost comes on at 3000 or if boost comes on at 5000.

While I don't have 500whp actually have about half that I am fairly sure you wouldn't get traction on the street untill 4th or 5th no matter what. But yeah a low profile tyre will not have enough flex to prevent wheel hop.

Considering he has an EVO, I don't think he quite has the traction issues we have.

I have a friend with a DSM, knocks down mid 11's @ 125 on rubber band 18" street tires. You'd be lucky to hit low 13's on 18" street tires in a honda
