Todays PDR repair.
I am a paintless dent removal technician by trade, (master level certified by Dent Wizard). Here is one of todays repairs, I took way longer than I should have but, we (co-workers and I) all got into another political discussion.
Anyway, the link has the pics..feel free to discuss.

I've fixed some monsters before, when I still worked for the Wiz (before going independent), biggest one was half of a door.
It had a shrp buckle/smile/pressure area at the top that took about 45 minutes to knock down, heres the pic:

Sorry the picture quality sucks, its over 4 years old.

I can fix up to three small dings on a door for as little as $60, it's nice not having the overhead like Dent Wizard does,( I'm able to charge less for the same work).
I'm located in Las Vegas and worked for Dent Wizard roughly 5 years.

I have an 11 month old son that keeps me in town but if you guys come to Vegas, we can have that party.
(Hopefully it won't turn out like the Christian Slater movie, 'Very Bad Things').

Heres a couple of things that'll make it a little easier to avoid the dents/dings:
1. Always try to park on the right hand side of other vehicles, (If you have to park next to another vehicle).
It's usually just a driver that gets out.
2. If you go to shopping centers that have shopping carts present, always try to park uphill. Because gravity OWNZ JOO!!

i guess this is kind of a general question:
but how do you do that? take off the panels and hit if wtih something to pop the dent out? or soemthin?
also, do those "ding" doctor tings on TV work at all? i have a few dings that i Want to take out, but im a fraid i might ruin it even more if i use one of those things?
should i post a pic?

i work at gm dealership and we call dentech all the time he did work on my gsr.
to answer ur question its like a artform, they go behind the panel and then pop the dent out with special tools using various mirrors to look at the dent in differnt angles, its not as easy as ppl think and it takes a very skilled person to get it right..some ppl can get the dent out..but some cant do it "right" where u dont even know there was a dent. some ppl u can still tell there was one
usually they charge by the panel, he did my rear quarter panel had like 6 dents in a row for about 100bux

Thank you, but to be honest - the PDR business is very shady, all of the business owners I have worked for are about as trustworthy as Darth Vader.
The first guy I worked for denied a workmans comp claim (this was in '97), I was in his Tahoe when we were returning to his shop when he decides to drop me off in the turning lane of a very busy street in Reno, (during lunch hour traffic).
I asked him to pull in to the driveway, but he refused telling me he was running late for a lunch date. I hopped out, ran behind the vehicle and did a quick double take, as I doubled back from dashing across the street - I got hit as I tried to double back to the middle lane by a mid seventies Chevy van. The driver of that van was actually arrested for having no license/registration and had a warrant, (which I learned later from my lawyer).
Those on-the-job injuries kept me out of work for 2 weeks, my head removed the driver side mirror of the van, my hip clipped the grill (and broke it), and my ankle ballooned up to the size of a bowling ball. (Plenty of stitches).
Turns out, (after I returned his truck and tools), that I find out he had denied the workmans comp claim.
I always thought he was more straight up than that. He currently smokes pot in his motorhome that is parked in his shop bay every evening just before 5pm (even during business hours), and has a pretty bad reputation in the car business in Reno. He did teach me my trade and I am grateful to have learned it. Working day to day for this guy was ok, until the bad stuff I mentioned earlier happened.
The second company I worked for was Dent Wizard, when I started back in early '99 it was a franchise I worked for. No problems there at all until corporate bought the franchise back in late'02, I was issued a company truck/tools and even an allowance for gas. Hell, even the franchise owner was dope, he had us take an instructed road course class as part of our Christmas bonus.
We all (employees) got to drive'01 Corvette Z06's around the SMMP road course and earn our completion certificates back in late '00. Corporate bought him out in '02 and our percentages got cut from 28 percent to 18 percent.
*** communications (the evil empire) are the ones who bought the franchise out and decided to take and take from the employees, never giving anything back. I had a $10,000 a month billing deadline when they took over. Just for comparison, - I bill roughly half of that today as an independent (and without them paying me 18% STINKING percent!!).
Life is much better now as an independent, I can support my wife, son and household just by doing business the way it should be. (Fair, at my own pace, and with no limits/restictions/deadlines or quotas).
Cliff notes:
If you want to get into this line of work, you need good eyesight and be prepared to get raped by your future employer.
