It's obviously electrical while the 96-98 is mechanical. If you plan to put into 96-98, then you need to probably get all the parts for a 99-00 conversion and find plugs for this climate control. You can probably color match the wires to get it to work. IDK about the AC screen and the different modes.

IMG... I just figured out why the controls are on the right side...

You'll need almost every associated climate control part (including the control module) and change wiring harnesses and everything. If you can find all of those parts, it should be plug and play. The wiring is important though... it will be a long and painful process without OEM harnesses.

im the one selling the climate control. From what i kno, One harness from the 99-00 Civics work, the other harness is a 16 pin harness(i believe) that needs to be rewired. and the a/c display harness needs to be rewired. The heater box on the 96-98 Civics will line up. im in the process of looking for these harnesses and i will include them if i can locate them anywhere.

Dude, dont spend your time or your hard earned money for that ****. It's stupid. If ur going to go through all that trouble just to get a climate control that inconveniently places the ***** further away from you, then i will be tempted to strike you with my tiger palm. Don't get it just bcuz its from japan because that will officially make you a fool. Sorry to lay it out like that
