Default Street Class MR2 preview(yes it's Canadian eh!)

Kudo's to builders J&R Fabricating and DL motorsports. http://www.monster-turbo.com

It's a MR2 with 3S-GET motor, that has been built with HKS cams, JUN rods, JUN pistons, ARP fasteners and HKS head gasket. An SDS EM-4E with MSD-6AL controls 8 800cc injectors. Turbo system consists of a hybrid large frame turbo, custom tubular header with twin 38mm Tial wastgates. A custom intake manifold with full radius bell mouths designed And built for maximum HP. A Spearco air to water intercooler and a Greddy type R BOV. Finish off the engine compartment. Drive train mods consists of a Tilton clutch, DSS drive shafts, and a TRD gearbox. The initial tests have shown HP in excess 650hp at the wheels at 28psi. With more testing and set up over the winter months lows 9’s are expected.

ummm maybe it's just a mock up for the pic? Your really think that would hold 30 psi+ of boost?

Not a full-race manifold, why does everyone think that a tubular manifold has to come from them and a team of engineers!!!!

Manifold was made by J&R fabrications. http://www.monster-turbo.com

you have a good eye there, his car was pretty wicked earlier this year. 2.2l stroker make around 440whp & 350whp at 22psi running a mixture of 93 & 109 octane, i dont' know if he ever really got a good race gas pass on it. car was running in the 11.5:1 range up til 7k when it went down to 11:1.

I'll hunt around for a dyno graph, or maybe he'll have one more accessable.

Some of you that have done fab work on MR2s, is it just me, or are these cars the biggest pain in the *** to work on ever? I can't stand up straight for an hour after working on the thing because I have to stretch over the side of the car.

Anyway, it looks like a 3rd Gen motor to me? Looks pretty mean. Are those injector bosses firing down the intake ports in the plenum?

I'm working on a Friend's car with a 3rd gen swap, trunk mount, complete rewire with Autronic SMC, Autronic 500R, and an SC61. It won't be as mean as the cars posted above, but we are aiming for 500+ WHP on the stock bottom end in a car that looks close to stock.

I love the way the MR2s launch on the street. They launch almost as hard as an AWD, but you don't get the 400 pound weight penalty of AWD.

yes, MR-2s are the worst car ever to work on! The shop I work at (AutoLab) did a 3rd Gen swap as well, My boss thought the wiring was a blast.

Cant beat the autronic!
