I just purchased a 98 auto y8 intake mani w/ air injection holes already plugged. A few days later I purchased a 96 y8 head that I plan to swap on to my y7 block. Now for the dumbest question of all time: I assume I have to unplug these air injection ports if I plan on using this mani on a 96 y8 head?

Wrong assumption, Air Injection only affects OBD2B (99-00)

 

If air injection only affects the 99+, why on earth does the 98 intake mani have air injection ports?

 

Maybe its not a 98 manifold?

so your telling me only the 99+ y8 mani's come w/ air injection ports?

 

Yeah, only 99-00 Y8 manifolds have air-injection.
