Default Need HELP HELP HELP building a strong reliable jdm b18c!!!!

hey guys,

i got a stcok jdm b18c in my eg hatch. i want to start work on the motor.its got about 70k supposedly and all i got done so far is a skunk 2 intake manifold and intake. what can i do to make this engine stronger, more reliable and faster without spending an arm and a leg..new valvetrain? cams? i dont' want to doa hardcore port and polish or valve job..but is there any like basic things i can do to keep my motor strong and healthy>> if anyine can give me some advice or options, let me know. im willing to spend around $1000. thanks to whoever reads and replys..thanks

For $1,000 i would buy.....

Springs/Retainers
Cams
Cam gears
JDM DC 4-1 header
Exhaust
Hondata
Test Pipe

Pick from those....probably start out with a header/ exhaust...then get cams/springs/retainers...then hondata and tune it.

great man thanks!! i figured valvetrain..i dont' really want exhaust so is there any stock exhaust i can use like itr or can you advise a certain exhaust?

your gonna need a decent sized exhaust if your gonna do all that stuff. Your bringing all that air into the motor...you gotta make sure it gets out too. get like a custom 2 1/4" mandrel bent exhaust and then use like an ITR muffler. That way u get the performance and not the noise/hassle of it.
