Another F20C Datsun 510
I read an earlier topic with a 510 / F20C streetcar, heres a work client's full track ride. I'm a 510/1600 fan from way back and currently own a datsun 510 / FJ20ET project car (sorry not a hondag motor).

Recently, took it down the strip jsut to see what it would do, in FULL rrack setup. It managed a best of 13.1 with wheel spin into 3rd.
In his race class, which is basically Rotary versus Piston with another up to 2L in displacement and no forced induction. He is currently 2nd fastest, behind a Rotary.

looks like the f20c motor sits pretty far back in that bay. I think on the white 510 with the f20c, the motor doesn't look that far back.

I kinda agree with you, thats why i'm using an FJ20 in mine. Crossbreeding is ugh
However, Tony ( the owner of the car ) was using the old L-series 2.0 and worked it til is couldn't be worked anymore and was still lagging behind in HP stakes. So the question was what other 2L n/a could put out 250+hp out of the box in rwd form. So he bought a wrecked jdm S2K, cut the drive tunnel out, welded it in and shoe horned everything in, cept for a S14 Silvia rear end.
And yea it's midmounted for the whole better weight distribution she-bang, Car was originally a 4door as well.

510 with honda swaps are very popular.
I like how you move the motor back. Very smart for weight distribution.
Anyone see the WELD s14 at the JGTC (GT Live) event? Engine was like this.

The weird thing to me is that he doesn't look like he is sitting any farther back in the last picture. So is the motor basically right next to him inside the car?

The appearance of the car is not my taste it looks too crazy. But I had a 71 510 2dr my junior year, starting working on it, sold it for a crx and regret it all the time. I bought a 71 510 a few months back, currently it is sitting at my dads, awaiting money to bring it back to life.
Hopefully soon.
