I sure as heck dont see the vtec solenoid.. Sorry about the crappy quality, just want to make sure Im getting a vtec head and not a y7. It says "p2j-1" on the left and "96" on the right of the ex. mani. side of the head. He's trying to sell me the head w/ ecu for 100$

VTEC selenoid or no, that is a good deal for just $100... as long as the head isn't shot.

Like someone else said, $100 is a good deal for just the ECU, then you are getting a head on top of that!

Alright, I think I'll take it then. BTW- to the guy who said you cant see the cam, look on the right side of the head, you can see the cam gear quite easily, and you wouldnt be able to see the vlaves unless you turned over the head.

Turn over the head so you can see the chambers. That will tell you if it's a z6 or y8.

You can tell by visually inspecting the chambers? What noticeable differences between the z6 and y8 chambers would I be able to see?

I believe the y8 has the square chambers, slightly higher compression.

Not to ***** either, but you cant really see the cam too well until you pull the LMA and cam holders/rocker arms.

Cant see the intake side too well, but looks like a y8 to me.
