Thinking about purchasing a 96 y8 head tommorow along with a 98 p2p ECU. Would the 96 head and 98 ecu coincide with another? Or do they have to be the same model year? Sorry for the noob question, just thought I'd make sure before I bought.

Also, any differences in the 96 y8 head and the latter model heads that I should know about?

it's the intake matifold that matters
I forgot how to identify them.

 

ah gotya.. well the intake mani has been taken off this head. Basically I just want to make sure Im getting a VTEC head. Im not sure if the vtec solenoid is on the head or not, im not even sure what a vtec solenoid looks like.

 

the vtec noid is on the upper left hand side (its sticking up)
