What tig rod to buy
Airgas doesn't list anything directly for 304/304L stainless, so I am wondering what to order to weld up this manifold.
Stainless McMaster bends, CNC cut flanges.
These are what I found that look close
If theres a better place to order it online, let me know

my suggestion would be to go to a welding supply store. when i got my welder i thought i would always order online since it was cheaper. well its not. i went to buy my gas bottle. well i paid for the gas bottle and gas, the guy also gave me 2 pounds of filler rods for free (mix of aluminum, stainless, and mild). he also gave me 4 tungstens. it doesnt seem like a whole lot but its also local so you dont have to order and wait. just go to the store. plus the one i went to is a local supply place and i always like to support the smaller local businesses
Typically, 308L.....but for such a high heat part, I'd investigate a bit and maybe use 309L. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it has a bit higher elasticity...which is good with something that has so many heat cycles.
Edited, as I meant to say 308L. Sorry.

well with the advice of a local tig welder, I went with the 308. I could've probably gotten work to order it from Airgas when they do their order next, but I didn't know when that would be and I felt like getting the order out of the way now so I can get this D series manifold finished for my friends car.
