Question about springs & coil overs & the Integra's 'optical illusion'.
Hi,
First off i plan to lower the car soon, im sitting on 17's right now. I was thinking Skunk2 coil overs but people say they suck & to go with springs which is fine with me. Although, i was wondering which set of springs would be good so that the rear end of the car wont look lower than the front known as the 'optical illusion'. I am on a budget so i need something under $200. And i dont want to lower it alot, because i plan to put a body kit on it soon too so anything from 1-1.7" would be great, thanks for all input!

i think just about anything you go with with always have the front look and probly be lower than the back. i mean cars usually carry 60% or more weight up front so it would logically fit. ive never heard of the abcks being lower though?
try omnipower or tanabe coilovers maybe?

ive got tenzoR springs with stock shocks in my teg and it rides quite nicely. not too low at all, maybe 1.75" max

LOL, I feel your pain with the optical illusion though. the front fender well is bigger than the rear and it makes it look higher off of the tire. tein makes springs that are lower in the front then in the rear for just this purpose. i've never talked to anyone that has had these springs but, scc installed these on a 2002 civic coupe and they had great things to say about them. try searching on tein springs and you might like what you hear.

Most people with Eibach springs have that optical illusion thing going on, the solution is to either have shocks with adjustable perches (Koni yellow or red RSK) and put the front on the lowest level and the rear on a higher level - or you can go with another spring company. I have found that Neuspeed, Progress, H&R, and Vogtland all make very good lowering springs.
If I were you, I would go the coilover route (skunk2 or GC), especially since you have 17s and don't know if you will have issues with rubbing depending on the tire size you are using, offset, etc. But, if you do want lowering springs, I think Neuspeed Sport or H&R Sport would do the job with your 17s.
If you do go with Tein, I think the S-tech probably has the drop you are looking for, although I only have experience with Tein coilovers and not their lowering springs.

My car w/ H&R Sport springs had more fender gap in back than in front after installing them, almost no gap in front, and a little over 1 finger gap in back.
i just got tein s.tech lowering springs on ebay for about 150 bones they are real nice ive had them on the car for about 2-3 months so far they have worked real nicely!!!!
