timing belt

Default timing belt

is it btwn 80,000 and 150,000 when the timing belt needs to be replaced?
can it go longer actually if the person was not hard on the car?
this car i might get has 154,000 on it and the belt hasnt been changed but the reason why i might getr it is bc its cheap and its still comes out a good price to buy even if i pay to get the belt replaced. should i expect it to break real soon even if the driver was not hard on the car?

it's better to never put this one off, it is recommended between 60,000 and 90,000 - MAX. If the timing belt breaks, you will be out a motor for a while until you fix the valve train that you're going to ruin and god knows what else - it's kind of a lottery, sometimes you win and things turn out "okay", but those cases are rediculously rare. Most times you wind up losing money - and a lot more than a $1 lotto ticket .

Seriously, change it up even with grandma driving, 150,000 is way too much.

tight coo i was gonna change it as soon as i got it, i just want it to last long enough until i get my motor swapped into it

thing is i may be able to get that motor swapped into like 2 weeks later and i really dont wanna spend money to get a new belt, so is there a way you can look at the belt to see what kind of wear is on there. i mean i know you really cant unless you take it out and look at it, but if i know theres obvious tears and wear then i wont take the chance but if it doesnt look that bad i wanna possibly not change it until my motor gets put in. is there any other way besides taking it out to check it out
