Default Revs acting funny at idle - running way rich

I have recently installed a skunk2 intake manifold and ctr cams on my 99 civic si. Since installing, I have had issues with the revs acting strange at idle - anytime I push the clutch in, the revs drop to like 200. Sitting at a light, the revs will be okay for a moment then start bouncing between 500 and 1200 rpms. Gears are set to zero.

Anyone else ever have this problem? I am at my wit's end with this thing. It is frustrating to drive.

Sounds like you have a vaccuum leak. Its probably the IM gasket.

i had/have the same problem after my cam/spring install. I replaced my o2 sensor b/c i got a code 41 and it helped quite a bit. It still does it once in a while, so it leads me to believe that its a vacuum leak...time to get out the old carb cleaner and start sprayin on all the vacuum lines and at all the gaskets.

Thanks. I'll be doing some carb cleaner sprayin' today. Would this be causing the rich condition on startup. I figure more air would = leaner mixture. Does it confuse the map into running rich for safety or something?

Set the idle with the EACV disconnected as per the Honda service manual.

I am having the same problem. but I didnt swap a god damn thing. no codes when read. It idles fine if I bring the car to a stop and then let off the throttle, but when I take my foot off the gas and depress the clutch the revs drop too low. I can smell the fuel I am running so rich.

I am changing cap and rotor tonight, and cleaning the **** out of the IACV and TB with cleaner. I also heard that a bubble could get stuck in the IACV cooland passages and **** idel up. Is this true?

F-in pisses me off

Yep,
You guys both have the same problem as I. Car dies after sitting at a stop with clutch depressed or in neutral while engine is warm. Still haven't figured it out. How do I remove the EAVC (or whatever you have to remove to set idle)?

Help, and keep this thread going.

I have a 99 ex and just installed a skunk2 p28, and ever since my idle has been all over the place. Sitting at a stop light it jumps from 650-900 rpm, while gradually increasing rpm in neutral sounds as if its backfiring. I've been told skunk2 p28 results in a rich running condition, but even messing with my idle air screw, iacv cleaned, and messing around with different dist. timing's, nothing has changed. I don't currently have a VAFC......would this help somewhat with smoothening the mixture out???
