em1 idling problem, did a searh already
I recently juss put on an ITR IM w/ the ITR TB. When we were done putting it on, we checked all the vaccum hoses and sensors. Then we fired it up and the idle went up to 4k. We also changed all the gaskets, the TB gasket as well as the IM gasket. The check engine light threw a code for the TPS sensor. We took the sensor off and found that it was cracked all the way around. We had an extra SOHC TPS sensor and used it. Surprisingly, the idle went down to 1300. Now when i start my engine, it goes to 2k, then a few seconds later it goes down to 1300. When im driving it purges from 1k-2k. Basically the idle is stable at 1300 until i drive it then the rpm jumps from different spots. Normally the idle should be below 1k correct? Is it safe to drive w/ the idle like that? How can i fix the idle so that it goes back to normal? Any help would be greatful. Thanks.

Did you hook up the iac valve? any loose connections. pull it off and clean it and see if that helps.

I juss took it for a rip, and after i would gas it, the idle would purge from about 1k-2k then it'll go back to 1300. How would i clean the IAC?

I'm not really sure but here's a test. First is obvious if the tps is getting some crazy readings it'll throw a code. If no code than use a DMM(digital multi-meter) to test the readings. There will be 3 wires.
1. is ground
2. is a reference voltage sent from the pcm. This is uasally 5volts
3 is the feedback wire to the pcm.
With the engine off and the throttle closed the (3) reference line should read out about .5volts half a volt.
Then hold the throttle to wide open. the reading should change to around 4.5volts.
If your out of specs then it's probally your tps sensor.
Again I have no idea if the SOHC tps will work.
Hope this helps.
