Default driver's side window won't go down

i have a 93 accord ex 4 door. my driver's side window wont go down. happened a few days i put on an aftermarket muffler. what could be the problem? thought it might be the driver's side switches and changed that out and still didn't work. then i changed the window motor and still didnt work. what can be the problem?let me know.
problem happened after i put on an aftermarket muffler... i was driving home after work.... smelled something burning...then i saw a puff of smoke come out from under dash by the stereo... dont know if that has anything to do with it..

Before changing out anymore parts, make sure power is going to the switch. if not, then you found your problem...

I just had the opposite problem...I checked the motor, switches and regulator. All electrical was good..thus I presumed regulator.
I pulled that and removed the window and then lubed, lubed and lubed again. It now goes up, though with some hesitation at first. I presume from a weak motor.
So, I would lube it up good. I used White Lithium grease on the regualtor cables and slide. Spray silicon applied to the channels/weatherstripping. After doing this, to my other windows, they all moved much quicker.
Hope this helps.

BTW...to all that read this..I am glad I found this site. I love DIY and tech stuff...a few other sites seem to have more "off topic" posts or Subwoofer questions than anything else. Not for me...too old I guess...

Not sure what year you have or how the electrical system is wired up, but could it be a fuse problem?

Does it do anything? Does it move up? Meaning is it just the down?

Get a test light and test to see if power is making it to that switch. If it is then its the switch, if its not then you are not getting power for some reason. Your power will come to that quad switch generalized for all 4 of the switches so i doubt that is the problem, i bet its just your individual drivers switch.

I happen to have the same problem. A friend of mine fixed it the first time it happened several months ago and told me it was an electrical problem. He said some cable was messed up but he didn't have to repair anything. Now it won't go down again. I took off the door panel and tested all electronics and they all test good; there is even power all the way to the switch. Now, after reading this thread it occured to me to check if its grounded properly. I remember my friend having to trace the problem to somewhere near the back of the car near the trunk. You may be wondering why I don't just call him, but he's out of the country for good and I don't have a way of contacting him. Thanks for the help.

If only the driver's window won't work, check fuse #33 in the underhood fuse box. That one is for the driver's window.

</TD></TR></TABLE>
The run channel is bad, that's why the window is slow to go up. It's best to replace it otherwise, you'll end up with a bent regulator. Then you'll need to replace that as well as the run channel.
