4K is right for a GSR tranny. B16 should be higher, I think something around 4400.

b18c trannys are soo easy to tell speed from RPM provided your useing properly sized tires.
This only works in 5th with a GSR trans...
2.5k rpm = 50mph
4krpm = 80mph
5k = 100mph
6k =120
6.5k = 130
Double your Rpms and its your speed.. And move some decimals over.

So when your speedo is burried when your deep WOT in 5th... Check your Rpm, then slow down and do the math.

multiply the number on the tach by 20

2 * 20 = 40mph

I wonder if my bigger wheels are throwing off the speedo or something. But on my way to work everyday, I cruise at 80 mph and it says 4k rpms.

VERY well could be.. but your LS tranny on OEM 15" wheels should be around 3 1/4 RPM's.. you still might have the same RPM in 5th as a GSR with those wheels.. but that doens't help your acceleration. (bigger wheels dont' work that way)

wheels dont affect the speed reading, the speed is taken by a sensor on the trans not the wheels, it throws it off by saying 80 while in reality you might be going 90

yeah.. it would actually mean your going slower. but not sure what it would do to the tach.

What I don't understand is this:

On my way to work the CHP has 2 mobile radar units with digital displays that remind you of your present speed. The most I have ever seen my speedo off was +3 mph. I'm sure that my tach may be a little off, but oh well. I havn't gotten tickets yet, and I usually stay with the flow of traffic (letting the crazy *** people go first, they always intercept the CHP for me LOL).
Thanks fellas.

I may be Canadian, but i still have a JDM Front End
