Default does a high flow cat really help or is this a waiste of time and money

i have just added a cold air intake to my 97 vtec with a custom dual exhaust. people say i should add a high flow cat. at the time i'm not doing headers only because it seems that many people say that the vtec exhaust manifold is good enough. should i bother with the high flow cat? please advise .....i love this site. also, i live in new york.........will this put my "check engine " lite on. can't have that in new york any more, or it won't pass inspection. thank you

some of the high flow cats will throw a code for catalyst inefficiency, to remedy this problem get an o2 simulator

If you aren't going to get a header don't bother with the cat.

I wouldn't bother with a high flow cat either. It's not going to make THAT much difference, so just save yourself the headache of dealing with the CEL.

Just pull your cat off and knock the stuff out with a bar. Now you have a high flow cat.
