Default 98 Accord Starting Problem

Hi All,
My wife's Accord LX has 80,000 miles on it and just recently started having a weird problem. She went to start it on a very cold morning after it was outside all night(usually garaged) and it wouldn't start I went out and turned the headlights on for a few seconds and car started(old cold battery trick) Figured battery was on last legs at 80,000 and when we got home replaced it. Everything Ok for about a week and then problem started again (not always) so I checked battery with voltmeter and it was about 12.50 or so seemed a little low so I charged it up and started car to see if I discounted the battery if car would still run and it did but when I hit high beams car would stall or come close to stalling. So I replace alternator and now a week later it's doing the same thing. All it takes to get started is to turn on headlights for a few seconds and then it starts right up. LX\5 speed standard transmission.
Any Ideas? TIA Bill

How cold has it been?? Some batteries just can't stand up to really low temps, that may be the problem it just doesn't have enough cold cranking amps to get the car started so when you turn the lights on it's warms the battery and you no longer have the issue of the cold cranking amps. Just a thought.
