So I went to my local gm dealer to buy some syncromesh. Long story short I asked for friction modified and they had no idea what I was talking about. I got two quarts of gm synchromesh transmission fluid. But nowhere does it say friction modified. Should I use this or should I try to find some friction modified. Thanks
I'm not really sure about what you are talking about. If it's Auto or manual, most recomend using only Genuine Honda ATF OR MTF. I wouldn't use the gm stuff. Different formulations for different cars.
no, i would never put it in there!!!
Most newer AT transmission are very specific in the fluid that they need and you can actually cause major permanent damage if you screw that up. Stick with the Honda stuff, its not like we're talking about $50 worth of fluid here. Trust me don't gamble on it.

Im not sure if you have an AT or a MT, but if its an AT use only Honda ATF. But for an MT, you can use the Honda MTF, GM Synchromesh, or Pennzoil Synchromesh. Personally, I stick with the Honda stuff (in my 96 MT and moms 99 AT), works fine for me. Good luck tho!
