Default Clear, see-through valve covers?

Ok I know this is very odd, but I was wondering if anyone sells/makes clear, see-through valve covers, particulary for my lil D16Z6. Yeah I know all you'll be seeing most of the time is just oil sloshing around, but still, I think something like that would like different and neat-o. I figure if they can make see-through hoods then see-through valve covers can be made.

**EDIT**If this is the wrong forum, please feel free to move it to a more suitable one.

Just use Saran-Wrap. Same affect.

I thought of this years ago... But plastic would melt... Glass could be used for show only, though :D.

plastic doesnt always melt. Look at Benzs and BMW or even the RX8 the engine covers are all made of plastic. look at your spark plug cable cover for DOHC. they are plastic

those are all just beauty strips rather than looking at a bare metal valve cover...

under my bmw plastic engine cover is a nice metal valve cover

Exactly. It would just show all the oil splashing aroung in there.

Maybe if they teflon coated it or something so the oil wouldn't stick after the engine was shut off. That might work?

there are PLENTY of newer cars with plastic exhaust manifolds.

so plastic CAN take the heat. its just... something thats THAT clear and plastic that can withstand the heat sounds.... far off.

most of these plastic manifolds are black plastic. prolly some crazy hi-temp material that only comes in black.

Intake manifolds, yes. Exhaust manifolds, I highly doubt. Hell, I've got a plastic intake mani.

all you have to do is get a mold of the valve cover, make one out of the plastic or whatever.. only time you would be able to use it would be at a show, get there switch it out...

then switch back to the real one before driving or starting the car again. all in all seems pointless to me?

Most clear plastics turn a nasty yellow when exposed to heat.

Also, the valve cover has a plate that goes on the underside, I think that would block any view of anything under the valve cover even if it were clear.
