wow if i didnt know better i would say huh?? cutting it will shorten it DUH but you can get the same affect by grabbing the shifter lower. to shorten throw buy a short throw shifter. cheap ones break off in your hand while trying to shift (been there done that laying under car on side of backass road with chick in car. very embarassing!!)

short throw refers to the lower end of the shifter where the linkage is attached not that. why take the time and cut it anyway when you can just grab a little lower on the shifter?? riddle me that

This is obvious to anyone with a brain. However, the effect is not significant at all, and is incomparable to a true short shifter that has the distance lengthened between the linkage eye and the pivot ball.
As civictildeath mentioned, you can achieve the same effect of cutting the shifter by simply grabbing it lower. Big whoop.

I wouldn't cut mine(i have a b&m short shifter), i'm just saying that if he was to cut it.. it would still cause a shorter throw. Only reason i said that is because others were saying it wouldn't cause a shorter throw. I'm not sure as to what you're asking me or trying to say
