Default VAFC trouble

I have a 93 civic with a b16a swap. I just wired up the apexi VAFC. It works great but the only problem is that it lowered my rev limiter to about 6500 and the check engine light is on. My brother had it in his 2000 civic Si and he didnt have that problem with it. I am positive that all the wires are where they are supposed to be i just cant figure out why the rev limiter is so low. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Get a owners manual off of apexi.com and read how to do it. I dont have my manual with me to tell you off hand.
