i just blew my engine today... pretty sure i spun a bearing. i dont feel like dealing with regrinding the crank and rebuilding it so i think im just gunna buy another engine.
are those "low mileage" japanese engines any good? i see ads for them all the time in the autotrader. where can i get one CHEAP? its a d16z6... 94 civic ex. anyone have one kicking around from a swap that they wanna get rid of cheap? i think the cheapest i found so far was 425. im in san diego but im willing to travel 100 miles or so if its worth it.
thanks!

im asking if those low mileage japanese engines are actually any good. but thanks for the reply sheriff.
well the jdm d15b would be a decent option.
http://www.hmotorsonline.com has them in stock, and i just put one in my car, 94 ex just like you, for the same reason also.
I would say it is a viable option to rebuilding the z6, as it is what i did. one thing though, if you do get it, order your parts once you get the engine. the timing belt is from a 94 VX, the 1.5L, the amount of teeth is less than that of the Z6. The other thing that i haven't figured out yet is that the spark plug wires are different, you may need to research that yourself, but the Z6 wires are too tall on the engine, they don't seal around the top of the headgasket. other than that think the rest of the replacement parts are z6 parts.
