K20 into 2001 civic
just a quik question for ne one out there that has done a k20 swap into a 2001ish civic four door. Curious who did it, if you have enjoyed the results and around how much you spent. Also if you have a good idea of where i could get it done or pick up a k20 i'd appreciate it. thanks this is for a friend... he cant buy a different car and kind of wants to buil up this one...
I belive this is still on topic does anyone know the weight of the k20a with its tranny? Call hasport and see if they supply a mount kit for that swap, unless you are crafting your own mounts I dot know of another company that would have them.I do know they have a sub harness that should help with the wiring madness this swap requires.

Here is a link to info on Hasports own 2001 Civic EX "Type-S" four door from Car and Driver magazine September 2003.

I'm pretty sure you started a thread about this over on mnsportcompacts.net. I remember a person with the same sn as you, asking this question.

lol yea i did, im a member of both great sites, i like to get opinions and facts and people that have had experience in the field etc... thanks for the post
If a K20 swap is a little rich for you, you could always do a K24 swap. This won't get you the same kind of power as a K20 (160HP vs 200HP). Unless, of course, you get the TSX motor (which will also be expensive). On the other hand, it will give you more torque (166ft-lb vs 142ft-lb). And because this motor is used in a MUCH larger number of vehicles sold than the K20, you can certainly pick one up MUCH cheaper.
The K24 is used in all the current Accords, CRVs and Elements. Honda has sold more than 200,000 of them in the U.S. since 2002 (CRV) and there are there are hundreds of them for sale right now on http://www.car-part.com . The Accord and Element engines have EGR and the CRV engine does not. I just looked on http://www.car-part.com and there are 2002 up CRV engines as low as $750 with 10k miles and 2003 up Accord motors as low as $500. Brian Hasty at http://www.fastbrakes.com has one in an EG with Hasport mounts and the stock K24 Accord motor with I.H.E. makes 160 whp and 160 wtq on a dyno-jet. It is a blast to drive.
