Default roof radio antenna problem

here goes another new one. i got a 6th gen hatch, bought it a few months ago. problem is, the antenna on the roof is out and it will not go back in. i dont know if anyone has had this problem before, but its getting quite annoying. at the car wash, thay always bend it down and tape it to the roof, and i can see the tape messing up my paint. also, i snowboard, and it severely interferes with the roof rack. basically, its a big hassle, i thought it was just rusty or something, and i itied wd40, and liwuid wrench, but no luck. if anyone has any ideas of how i can get my antenna back into the roof, please help me.

just replace it, they are not that much like 20 bucks at a stereo shop, mine was broken on my 95 when I bought it not that hard.

well, its not really the money, ive already thoughtof replacing it, but it seems like it would be a pain in the *** to take apart the pillar n all that to replace the whole thing, cuz it runs all the way to the radio.

If i remember correctly I don't think that I removed my pillar to take mine out. It is kind of a pain but isn't it always? just tie something to the antenna (from the inside )before you start to pull the old one out and tie to the new one once you start feeding it in and you should be okay.....

i did this 2 days ago..all i did was use an antenna from the junkyd and taped the end of the black wire to a coat hanger and wiggled it down the pillar...it should come out near the top of a square hole (95coupe) reach ya hand up there untape it and voila 5 min job

It is a pain, but if you do a search, there are quite a few threads on how to feed a wire down in there and pull a new one through.
