My 90 CRX DX is in need of a new motor soon. I plan on doing a b series swap but I was wondering if I could put a K20 into it? Has anyone done this or know anything about this swap? This is just a thought and I will have the money over the summer so that's why I am thinking crazy.

i could be wrong... but i thought the k20 didnt fit under the stock crx hood. dont most ppl just cut a hole in their hood? it has been done tho.

Ya. True. But hey, at least it drops in LOL----hasport makes the mount kit for it

They haven't released it yet though have they?

Hybrid Racing should have their mount kit for the EF out by summer as well.

the jdm sir hood actually clears it with no problem......

 

I've searched this topic before and if I'm correct HASPORT almost has a kit ready. It will include a weld in mount (not a real big deal considering you have to cut off factory mounts to swap an EG/EK) and from what I've heard HASPORT is tring to include a hood with thier kit since theres no way the motor will clear the stock hood.

Hey , I suggest you watch the Vid of Pacman's K swap vid. Search for it and you will just drop your mouth when you see what it can do in a Rex.

 

The production Hasport mount kit should clear an aftermarket SIR style hood. We are running a K24 which is 19mm (3/4") taller than the K20. We cut the hole in the Fiber Images hood to clear not only the K24 valve cover but also the JRSC. The mount kit should be available before the end of January 2005. The billet mounts are done, the steel mount brackets are in production, and we are working on the cable-to-hydro clutch mechanism. We have a working prototype on our car and are working on making it a production piece. You guys will be the first to know when it is ready for sale.
We have a policy of not taking any orders (or money) until we can ship.
