Which CAI is better for a 99-00 civic si, aem v2, or whichever injen cai is the best

Just get an ebay intake and slap a better filter on it.

 

Seriously. Theres no point in spending hundreds on an intake. Just do what ABK said, generic intake with a nice filter. The only way I'd justify spending good money on an intake would be the CF J's Racing STYLE intakes for like $160 shipped... because its blingy lol.

 

Ebay pipe with a K&N filter. The AEM V2 would maybe give you one or 2whp AT 7000rpms but is that really worth 250-300bucks??

buy a used AEM or used injen. They will both do just fine, make sure filter is clean.

yup thats true. The only way to make an si fast is boost. But a CAI really makes a difference in 5th gear on the freeway plus you can hear vtec nicely

 

eBay intake works just as good. $20 intake... $100+ intake...

Tsk tsk tsk. You don't believe us because you're stuck in the fantasy world where people shop by name brand. That's not the way it always works out here in reality man. An intake is a FREAKING PIPE! The only thing that ever matters is filter and location of filter. AEM doesn't make their intakes out of gold or some other magic material that nets eleventy billion horsepower.

 

ebay cai on my 97. filter is the main difference in them. buy a cheap ebay cai and one of them air tornadoes and you $200 or so is better spent on intake

 

just get a ebay coldair and buy a better filter, your getting the same stuff, but your paying for the name.

yup. I gots an injen cai and i love the sound.

 

ebay y0! thats what i have and im happy with it. save your 200$ up towards a turbo kit then throw away the ebay pipe

 

CAI all work the same right? 2-3hp extra isnt worth the 250-300 bucks. i bought a CAI with filter for about 30bucks, and **** it does its job well done!

it is worth it to me after all $224 is not very much money these days. my g/f spends that on jeans and a shirt that she will wear for 1 month.

I can use the v2 with my jrsc for years. AND ill have 3 more whp than you

between ebay and v2 i've had both on my si and i can seriously theres a major diff. but for the price i can say ebay!! and a good filter
