If I were to take the back seats out of my accord would I have to replace them with cross bars?

I was thinking about losing some weight on my Accord. The most obvious thing to take out would be the rear seats. If I were to take them out would I need to replace them with crossbars/roll bar to keep the chassis stiff? Im not sure if its for safety purposes if the car were to rollover or if I were to keep the handling in the car the same...What do you guys think?

I dont think that if you were to take out the backseats it would reduce the rigidity of the vehicles frame, but for modifying purposes, depending on which avenue you're gonna pursue i suggest getting the bars back there anyhow...unless of course you want to setup a diesel sound system, removing that back seat opens up a whole new world of options.

I did it on my accord. It's a little noisier, but stiffness hasn't really been affected as far as I can tell. I'm planning on getting a rollbar, so no matter.

What do you mean by noisier? Theres no way the bench seat in the back can only weigh 10-15lbs. It has to be more than that.......

i took mine out, its just foam...they're light as hell. the separator between the back seat and the trunk probably weighs another 15lbs but its all separate.

the back seat is a pair of foam pads. thats all.
15 lbs seems even on the high side for the weight of it.
